What are Check-In Conversations?
The university will pilot an interim approach to performance evaluations for staff called Check-in Conversations. The goal of these conversations is to have open, honest, and constructive dialogue about each individual’s contributions at work. These conversations aim to a) reflect upon and learn from past efforts, b) discuss current priorities, and c) aspire to and plan for the future. It will be a ‘rating-less’ system that focuses two-way discussions on the ongoing performance of work and the staff member’s professional and personal well-being, as well as his or her professional growth.
