Michael Tierney
Michael Tierney has directed William & Mary's Global Research Institute (GRI) since 2008. He oversees rigorous, policy-relevant research at GRI's ten labs and works with faculty and students to bring the best of academia to global policy challenges. His research interests include international organizations, international political economy, and Chinese foreign aid — which led him to co-found the AidData Center for Development Policy.
As a George C. and Mary C. Hylton Professor of Government and International Relations, Dr. Tierney teaches, mentors, and collaborates with students while bridging the gap between the theory and practice of international relations.
