Find Your Experience

The new student transition does not end with Orientation.

The Office of First Year Experience collaborates with campus and community partners to implement our Find Your Experience program. Through year-round initiatives and thoughtful programming, we support new students (both first-time-in-college and transfer students) as they develop their authentic selves and explore their role within the W&M community.

We are aided in this process by our Initiative Directorate. These students manage our initiative areas by helping us plan, design, facilitate, and promote both large and small-scale opportunities.

Our Initiative Areas

Initiatives connecting first-year students with faculty members outside the classroom, and encouraging academic enrichment and the development of one's purpose post-graduation.

Initiatives designed to support first-year students of distinctive groups (i.e. military/veteran, gap-year, first-generation, international student) within the W&M community.

Engagement

Essential

Five sessions (four held in the fall semester; one held in the spring) considered to "essential" in the holistic development of W&M students as each supports a key element found within our community.
