Non-Emergency Service Requests

Non-emergency service requests are those that will not likely cause severe damage to a university building or facility. Submit all non-emergency service requests using the Service Request Form. You will be prompted for your William & Mary userid and password before being allowed to proceed to the Systems Request Form. NOTE:  For termite and pest control issues, please call Work Control at 221-2270.

Our department is here to resolve issues pertaining to:

  • Locks and card reader issues in buildings, classrooms, and Residence Halls
  • Plumbing
  • Heating and Cooling, except for personal air conditioners.
  • Electrical Issues:
    • Non-functioning lights and outlets including bulb replacement
    • Exterior lighting such as street lights, pathway lights, etc.
  • Grounds Issues (sidewalks, trees, grass, etc.)
  • Custodial Services
  • Residence Hall furniture
  • Moving and Events (Faculty and Staff only.  Banner Index number is required.)
  • Departmental Requests for minor alteration or minor construction (Faculty and Staff only.  Banner Index number is required.)

Service Requests can only be submitted by faculty, staff, and students possessing a valid William & Mary user id and password.  If you experience trouble logging in, contact [[support,Technology Support]] or call them at (757) 221-4357.  IT hours of operation are 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

Issues with Door Access

Call Facilities Management Work Control for non-residential building access. Residents who are locked out of their rooms should follow the instructions on the "Locked Out?" webpage (Residence Life).

Minor Alterations/Construction

Any request for minor alterations to a facility must be submitted by memo or email to [[workor,Work Control]]. Minor alterations include moving a wall or door and changing or adding electrical circuits or receptacles. All such requests and resulting work will be reviewed and coordinated with the requester.  You may be requested to submit a Project Request Form to Facilities Planning, Design and Construction for evaluation, design for approval of the work requested.
