Utilities

Central Utilities provides steam, hot and chilled water to many of the facilities on campus for heating and cooling.  The location of the three central plants allows most of the campus facilities to be connected to central utilities.  Central utilities provide a more reliable and energy efficient approach to heating and cooling spaces compared to stand alone building specific systems.  The plants are monitored 24/7 year-round by a dedicated staff to ensure the plants and associated distribution systems provide uninterrupted utilities.  Proper maintenance and investment in increasingly efficient equipment has been and continues to be part of the stewardship of these facilities.
