The Dean's Council

The Dean of Students Advisory Councils are forums for collaborative dialogue between current students and the Dean. Applications will be live in late August.

The 1st Year Dean’s Council meets monthly to grow and hone leadership skills and the art of committee work. 1st year students will meet with the Dean of Students and discuss current university topics and engage in deep discussion. Students will engage in leadership building techniques.

Dean’s Council. Monthly, the Dean of Students meets with her Council to discuss current ideas, insights, and concerns, and brainstorm potential solutions. The Dean’s council provides the student body opportunities to meet, collaborate, and work through issues related to student success, student well-being, and campus climate, directly with the Dean of Students. As a group, topics will be generated, projects collaboratively engaged in and at times special guests will be invited to participate.

One charge of the council is to increase awareness about resources, supports, and services that are available through the Dean of Students Office, the Student Success Thematic Unit, and the University as a whole.

Each Dean's Council will be comprised of 12 current student representatives from a wide variety of majors, organizations, and affiliations across campus. Invitations to apply are open to any current student. Councils meet monthly for an hour in the evening – ability to be present at the majority of meetings is required.

Applications are now live! Applications are due by 11:59 PM, Monday, September 25th!
