What is the WRP?
The WRP is a recruitment and referral program specifically designed for highly motivated college students and recent college graduates with disabilities to obtain summer internships/jobs or full-time employment with federal and private sector employers. This may allow students to explore careers in the federal service and gain interviewing experience.

Applicants for the program must:
- Have a disability (and the condition must be on file with accommodative services)
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Be enrolled on a full-time basis (unless the severity of the disability precludes the student from taking a substantially full-time load) OR have graduated within the past year (after April 2015)
How to Apply
- Interested candidates must first register online starting on August 28, 2016 by clicking the Student Registration box on the right side of the page. The candidate will fill out basic information and then the coordinator will receive an email to either approve or reject the candidate. A candidate may be contacted by the campus coordinator to confirm eligibility. Once a candidate is approved, he/she will receive an email to complete the rest of the application.
- In order to be selected for an interview, candidates must submit the following documents online on the Manage Documents part of the online application by October 10, 2016.
- Resume (Required) - Resumes must be word documents. It is highly advised that candidates get their resumes reviewed by a career advisor at the Cohen Career Center before submitting online.
- College Transcript (Required) - Transcripts can be official or unofficial and word documents are highly encouraged. Unofficial transcripts can be obtained online through your banner account.
- Schedule A Letter (Highly Suggested) - The schedule A letter is not required at application but employers may request the document prior to hire. Therefore, it is strongly suggested that candidates obtain this letter now because this may improve candidates chances of being hired quickly. Please see the sample Schedule A letter and the Schedule A checklist for guidance.
- Additional Documents (Optional) - Candidates can upload additional supporting documents such as letters of recommendation, writing samples, etc.
Candidates with strong applications will complete a 30-minute remote interview via telephone with a WRP recruiter. The date is not yet set but will likely take place sometime near the beginning/middle of November. In order to prepare for this interview, it is highly suggested that candidates make an appointment at the Cohen Career Center for a mock interview.
Note: An interview does not guarantee any placement and definitely does not guarantee automatic placement. Candidate information is not entered into the database until mid-December and most contacts will occur between March and June, 2017.
