About Me

Heather is originally from rural eastern Oklahoma and completed a bachelor's degree in rhetoric and writing from the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith. During her time at Arkansas - Fort Smith, Heather was heavily involved in student activities and orientation which inspired her to begin a masters program in Student Affairs. Heather received her master's degree in Educational Administration at Texas A&M University as part of the Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education program, all while working directly with families as a Family Programs and Outreach Graduate Assistant. Heather is actively involved in the professional organizations of her field, NODA: The Association for Orientation, Transition, and Retention in Higher Education and AHEPPP: Family Engagement in Higher Education

When Heather is not at work, she enjoys trying new recipes, exploring new places, and visiting with her family in Oklahoma and Arkansas.
