Sexual Misconduct Resolution Process

offices/compliance/policies/sexual_misconduct/policy/indexWorking with the Office of Compliance and Equity, the Dean of Students Office is responsible for resolving reports of sexual misconduct, monitoring the response of other campus officials involved in sexual misconduct complaints, and for responding to complaints of retaliation connected to the reporting or filing of a complaint covered by the Sexual Harassment and Gender-Based Harassment Policy. In consultation with the Title IX Director and other offices such as Human Resources, Community Values & Restorative Practices, may handle certain aspects of the university’s response to an alleged violation of W&M’s harassment policies involving students.

W&M prohibits sexual harassment in any educational programs and activities or employment situations

The university's policy establishes a process for determining when sexual harassment or assault has occurred. It also authorizes the university to take actions to stop the conduct, to remedy its effects, and to provide information to prevent sexual harassment.
