While William & Mary is operating on a modified academic schedule, the Dean of Students Office and all of our related offices will be available via phone and email. Additionally, we will have the capability of scheduling meetings with students remotely via phone or Zoom.
As the Dean of Students Office, we concern ourselves with the concrete and the pragmatic - the short-term decisions William & Mary students have to make on a daily basis. Questions such as, "How much longer do I work on this paper?", "Should I start studying for the exam I have tomorrow instead?", "Is it worth it for me to skip my morning class so I can finish both?", or "Do I dare ask my professor for an extension?"
The Dean of Students Office is a place where you can get help answering these kinds of questions. We meet with students both individually and in group sessions to discuss things like time management, stress management, and study techniques. Despite the misconception that this department is only for students who are struggling to make grades, many students who take advantage of these resources are doing well in their classes, but are looking to gain that competitive edge.
