Tuition & Fees

DC Summer Session 2018

Program Costs

See a detailed breakdown of costs.  DC Summer Session students pay the same tuition and fees as undergraduates pay for summer courses on campus.

Virginia residents

$420 per credit hour

Out-of-state residents

$1195 per credit hour

When registering for Summer classes, students are charged a one-time registration fee of $25.00 and a one-time comprehensive fee of $55.00. These fees are non-refundable.

Housing Costs

Although majority of the class sessions will be online, there will be a limited number of mandatory in-person class sessions. The W&M Washington Center does not provide designated student housing for DC Summer Session.

For those students who do not live locally, we are currently negotiating discounted hotel rates for the dates of your mandatory in-person class sessions. Once partner hotels are determined, we will provide detailed information on how to take advantage of the discounted hotel rate.

Financial Aid

Currently enrolled and matriculated W&M students can take out student loans, or their parents can take out a PLUS Loan, to cover the cost of Summer Session courses. Students must complete a FAFSA form to apply for loans. For questions regarding this process, please contact [[gjanderson, Ginia Anderson]] at the W&M Financial Aid office.

Additional Student Spending in DC

The average cost per student will vary; however, most students report spending between $50-$100 in a week on "groceries and other personal expenses" and about $35 per week on Metro fare.  We strongly recommend taking advantage of the various public transportations options that DC has to offer. The W&M Washington Center does not have available parking (overnight hotel parking can exceed $45/day). In addition, students traveling from out of state or the immediate DC area will have varying travel costs.

If you've registered and paid your tuition, but now need to withdraw, contact the Bursar's Office for instructions.

Veterans Education Benefits

Students planning to use veterans education benefits (GI Bill®) should be aware that the Department of Veterans Services has determined that courses at William & Mary's D.C. campus are ineligible.
