Getting to the Georgetown Student Health Center

The “GUTS” Bus

There is a shuttle service to Georgetown University and there is a stop right in Dupont Circle, near the W&M Washington Center.  View the entire GUTS schedule.

The Georgetown University Transportation Shuttle (GUTS) was established in 1974 to help students, faculty, staff and visitors travel to and from the University campus and nearby Metrorail stations. Today, GUTS operates five shuttle routes, connecting the campus to the Georgetown University Law Center on Capitol Hill, to University offices on Wisconsin Avenue, to Metro stations at Rosslyn (Virginia) and Dupont Circle (District of Columbia) and to stops in North Arlington, VA.

  • Faculty, staff and students with a valid Georgetown University ID card can ride along any GUTS route at no charge.
  • Visitors and persons doing business on campus may also ride free of charge and must show a picture ID at the time of boarding. William and Mary students who are using the Medical Center are also eligible to ride.
  • GUTS buses depart and arrive at the Leavey Center in the heart of Georgetown University's campus. Buses operate between 5 a.m. and 12 midnight. Check online for the schedules.

The Georgetown SHC is not very metro accessible - it is about a 30 minute walk from both the Rosslyn and Foggy Bottom metro stops.

If there is an emergency, please take a taxi or uber from your home to the Georgetown SHC. The fare should be around $15.
