On Wednesday, March 25, 2009, the W&M Washington Office hosted a round-table discussion focused on "Remembering World War II and the Holocaust Today." Associate Professor Bruce Campbell moderated the event, which highlighted the topic he taught to the Program students during the semester. The students were present and the event was also open to alumni. The discussion for the evening revolved around "the manifold ways we choose to remember and memorialize these great events in our nation's capitol."
Round-table speakers included:
- Bob Patrick - Director of the Veterans History Project in the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress
- John Powers - Analyst in the Information Security Oversight Office, National Archives and Records Administration
- Rabbi Laszlo Berkowits - Founding Rabbi of Temple Rodef Shalom in Falls Church, VA and Holocaust survivor
The round-table was followed by a brief Q&A period and reception.
