About the ADA Coordinator and Deputy Compliance Officer
Carla joined William & Mary in 1999. She began working as an Investigator with the Compliance & Equity Office in June 2015 and became W&M's Deputy ADA Coordinator in May 2017. Carla was named Interim ADA/Rehabilitation Act Coordinator in June 2018 and was named ADA Coordinator and Deputy Compliance Officer in March 2020. Prior to joining the Compliance & Equity team, she worked in the President’s Office, where her role included researching and resolving sensitive constituent matters. Carla has served on numerous college-wide committees and organizations including the President’s Task Force on Preventing Sexual Assault and Harassment, the President's Disability Working Group, the Equal Opportunity Committee, the Employee Appreciation Committee, the Strategic Planning Steering Committee, the Women’s Network, and was President of the Professionals and Professional Faculty Assembly from 2014-2015.
Carla earned a Doctor of Education in Educational Policy, Planning and Leadership (Higher Education Administration emphasis) from William & Mary, a M.S. in Education from Radford University, and a B.S. in Psychology from Virginia Tech. She is an ATIXA-Certified Civil Rights Investigator and received her ADA Coordinator Certification in 2017 from the University of Missouri.
