Dress to Impress Program

Mission

The Dress to Impress (D2I) program provides current William & Mary students with the opportunity to borrow professional attire for job, graduate school, and internship interviews, as well as professional networking events and other career-related opportunities. The program exists to offset the costs and inconveniences associated with the search for post-college career options by providing students with an alternative to purchasing professional attire. A dry cleaning fee is the only cost associated with the program.

What We Offer

The Career Center maintains an inventory of full suits, professional pieces (dress shirts, blazers), and accessories (ties) available for current undergraduate, graduate Arts and Sciences and Education, and Master of Accounting students in good standing. Our D2I closet includes new and gently used items generously given to the Career Center by alumni, faculty, staff, and current students.

How to Access

Be advised that the D2I closet includes a limited supply of professional attire and may not accommodate your size and style preferences. We strongly encourage you to come to the Cohen Career Center at least three days prior to your event. Please also note that we may not be able to accommodate same day requests.

To review available items and try them on, please stop by the Cohen Career Center's front desk. The best time to do this is during our Quick Advising hours (Mon. - Thurs., 2 - 4 p.m.), but the front desk is staffed Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., if you can not make one of those times. Please allow 30 - 45 minutes to view inventory, check out items, and sign the D2I policy agreement (ie. plan your visit no later than 4 p.m.).

Policies and Procedures

In order to borrow items, you must complete the online policy agreement. Please carefully read all policies and procedures, as you will be asked to provide your electronic signature. Damage or loss of D2I items will result in fines, loss of access to the D2I program, and possible referral to the Dean of Students.

Unable to Find What You Need?
Due to our limited inventory, it is possible you may not find professional attire in the D2I closet that suits your size and style preferences. However, there are a number of department stores in Williamsburg that provide professional attire, often at a discount. Several of these stores are in close proximity to campus or accessible by public transportation.
