In the interest of providing various opportunities for students and employers to meet each other, the Cohen Career Center manages a variety of large scale recruiting events. The career fairs and interview days happen either on-campus in Williamsburg, Virginia or on-location in various metro areas. Employers are integral to these events and are encouraged to ask questions and/or register. Below is a list of recruiting events that typically happen each year for reference.
New York Recruiting Consortium
To be determined
A consortium of seven schools (William & Mary, Brown University, Connecticut College, Cornell University, Swarthmore College, Trinity College, and Union College) plans an annual Interview Day that is held in midtown Manhattan. This event allows employers to recruit and interview students for internships and full-time job opportunities. It's a convenient way to hire top-notch students without having to travel to Williamsburg. Students must be from one of the member schools in order to participate.
On-Campus Student Employment Fair -- Fall 2021
September 2, 2021 | 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
Location: Sadler Center, Chesapeake A
The On-Campus Student Employment Fair allows William & Mary departments to recruit students for their open student employment positions. The fair is open to all students regardless of Federal Work-Study status.
Virtual Career Diversity Expo -- Fall 2021
September 8, 2021 | 12:00 - 2:00 p.m.
The Career Diversity Expo offers distinct ways for students and employers to engage. The morning features a panel to discuss the issues and trends in navigating the workforce as a diverse candidate. Students have the chance to ask meaningful questions about company culture and how their respective companies are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
In the afternoon, students participate in an employer showcase to speak with representatives in one-on-one settings. During their conversations, students glean information about the organization’s current and upcoming internship and full-time positions. This event is limited to a smaller number of employers and focuses on the opportunity for employers and students of diverse backgrounds to network and learn about each other.
Virtual Meet the Firms -- Fall 2021
September 10, 2021 | 12:00 - 4:00 p.m.
A symposium centered around the career fields of consulting and accounting. This event includes an industry-specific career fair and panels for consulting and accounting. While the event is focused on accounting and consulting careers, it is not limited by major or class year and all students interested in the fields are welcome to attend. It is held at the Mason School of Business.
Virtual Career & Internship Fair -- Fall 2021
September 16 & 17, 2021 | 12:00 - 4:00 p.m.
The fair is an excellent way for companies and organizations to meet students, get their brand name out on campus, speak with interested students of all class years and majors, and gain interest in internships, externships, leadership programs, and full-time positions. This event encourages employers of all industries to attend.
Virtual Graduate & Professional School Fair -- Fall 2021
This fair is designed for admissions representatives from graduate school programs to recruit prospective students for their schools/programs. Fair is open to students of all majors and class year as well as alumni. This event is not intended to address employers' hiring needs, but more for graduate schools recruiting students for their programs.
