Associate Director, Don Snyder has worked for the Career Center since August 2010, and has been in the career services field for over 16 years. His role focuses on assisting students who are interested in science and technology careers. He liaises with natural and applied sciences departments on campus, including: Biology, Chemistry, Neuroscience, Physics, Computer Science, Math, Geology, Marine Science, Environmental Science and Policy, and Kinesiology & Health Sciences. He conducts medical school admission mock interviews. Don develops both educational and career-specific programs for undergraduate students to help them explore majors and careers in scientific fields. He also regularly conducts visits to and manages relationships with science and technology employers, cultivating opportunities for internships and jobs for W&M students.
Don works with our William and Mary parents, providing educational programs and services for them, as well as engaging them in career center programming. He also serves as the Building Emergency Coordinator for the Career Center. He developed the Building Emergency plan, and provides training and education for staff. Don assists and provides guidance in communication/marketing platforms including video and audio for our web site.
Don transitioned from a 10 year career in radio to get his M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration at Kent State University, where he also worked in career services. He came to Williamsburg from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Don received his Bachelor of Arts in Communication degree from Bowling Green State University.
