Cohen Career Ambassadors are highly-trained* student staff who can provide guidance on aspects of career readiness including how to communicate one's professional identity via resumes, cover letters, and LinkedIn as well as how to find externships, internships, and jobs. There are currently six ambassadors who you will see during the career center's Quick Advising hours Monday-Thursday from 2-4 PM or around campus sharing advice and resources. They can answer questions such as:
- How can I improve my resume or cover letter?
- Where can I find an internship?
- What is networking and how do I do it?
- How do I set up my TribeCareers profile?
*Each ambassador completes an initial 16 hours of training before they can work with students and they receive ongoing professional development throughout the year as well as 9 hours of review each summer.

Hello! I am a senior economics major and business analytics minor at the College of William and Mary. I hope to work as a data analyst with a federal consulting firm after graduation, and perhaps use data and supply chain logistics to reduce food waste at a large-scale level in the long-term. I also love working with nonprofits that aim to alleviate poverty and food insecurity, and I hope to incorporate it into my long-term career path. On campus, I am involved with Real Talk University, Martial Arts Club, and the Library Ambassadors. I am passionate about career readiness and look forward to helping students utilize the resources in the Cohen Career Center to take an active role in developing and shaping their ideal career paths.

Hi! I’m a sophomore, hoping to major in anthropology and chemistry at William & Mary. I volunteer in an archaeology lab on campus and studied abroad this past summer to learn archaeology field methods in Kenya. I’m interested in past cultures as well as global health, which is why I am also a volunteer EMT in Williamsburg. I am excited to help other students develop their career aspirations and learn about all the resources the Cohen Career Center has to offer.

I am currently a junior here at William & Mary and I am studying to receive a chemistry major and mathematics minor. Someday I would like to do research on space technology and learn more about what is around our planet. Outside of the Career Center, I am a part of the executive board of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority as Vice President of Intellectual Development. In my free time I enjoy hanging out with my friends in Swemromas, petting dogs in Colonial Williamsburg and curling up with a good book and a cup of coffee. I love being able to help the Cohen Career Center become even more of a friendly, welcoming place and helping students utilize everything it has to offer!
Olivia Thompson — Ambassador since Fall 2017
Hello to all! I am a Freshman here at the college, looking to double major in Psychology and Sociology, concentrating in Law & Criminology with hopes to one day work in the Virginia Bureau of Investigation. I've lived in Mechanicsville, Virginia my whole life and thrive by volunteering at the Emergency Crew in Petersburg when I'm not on campus. Here on campus, I am a frequent visitor of Colonial Williamsburg as dog watching is one of my favorite hobbies and I have an appreciation for Blackbird Bakery. I love working with all the people at William & Mary, developing their career readiness skills, and watching the Career Center fill with excited and motivated students!
Grace Elman —Ambassador since Fall 2018
Hello everyone! I’m a Sophomore at the College from Arlington, Virginia, studying public policy with a chemistry minor. I’m on a pre-law track and would like to practice one day. On campus, I’m a President’s Aide to President Rowe, and I serve as the Vice President of Ritual and Fraternity Appreciation for Alpha Chi Omega. In my free time, I sing with the W&M Women’s Chorus and keep close tabs on all the dogs on campus. I’m very excited to help students use all of Cohen’s resources to get ahead on their career paths!
