Purpose: Professional development through experiential learning
The William & Mary Nonprofit Case Competition is a three week, hands on avenue for all majors and class years to gain real world experience in solving actual problems for local nonprofits in the Williamsburg community. There are cases related to nonprofit management, marketing, education, business, social justice, public health, logistics, and more! It is a chance to build relationships with local nonprofit employees. Explore this unique opportunity with a team of 3-5 students to solve real problems nonprofits face; the cases are not hypothetical.
- Real-world, hands-on experience - huge resume/cover letter/interview booster!
- A chance to give back to the community - a true public service experience
- Certificate of completion
- Networking opportunities
- Prizes for placing in the competition
- Free lunch
This competition will require significant amounts of work outside of your normal activities and schoolwork. We estimate about 7 hours per week for each of the three weeks. Please take a look at your schedule and make sure that you have the time to commit to this program. Considering that the 8 local nonprofits are volunteering their time in participating, this is NOT a program you can simply drop out of. We expect full commitment once enrolled.
