Program Discontinuance

Over the last semester, we’ve been assessing how the campus community is using the W&M Express Program. Our research shows that students and staff most frequently use alternate forms of payment when shopping and dining on campus. After careful consideration of changing campus needs, the W&M Express program will wind down operations off-campus on June 30, 2025 and on-campus on December 31, 2025.

Important Dates

Please keep the following dates in mind while planning how to spend your balance:

June 30 - last day to use Express funds at off-campus vendors.
December 31 - last day to use Express funds at on-campus vendors.

Check Your Balance

Track your current Express balance on tribecard.wm.edu and make a plan to spend down your remaining funds by the dates above. Be sure to select "Student/Staff login" from the left hand menu and sign in for the most up-to-date account activity.

Balance Refunds

Refunds will be processed at program end in December 2025 for accounts with balances of $10.01 or more. View the information below for any steps you may need to take to process your refund based on your campus population.

Balances will be applied to your student account after the program ends in December 2025. If your account currently has a charge due then this will be applied towards that amount. If you do not have a pending charge or the amount of the refund is more than the amount of the charge, it will appear as a credit.

Please sign up for direct deposit in eServices to receive your W&M Express Card refund faster and more securely. Login to eServices through Banner self-serve and choose the 'Refunds' option at the top of the screen or choose 'Electronic Refunds' under 'My Profile Setup' to provide your bank information. You can find more information about refunds here. Without direct deposit, please allow 7–9 business days for the check to be delivered by the postal service. The checks will be sent to the address on file with the university.

Faculty and staff with Express balances over $10.01 will be refunded at program end in December 2025. More information about requesting a refund will be available in the Fall.

For employees with funds directly deposited to W&M Express, no further action is required on your part to end this deduction. Payroll has stopped all direct deposits and you will not see Express funds deducted from the May 1 paycheck onwards.
