Volunteering
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute could not operate without its volunteers. We are run by volunteers from our membership and are pleased to welcome new ones. If you would like to help in any of the areas listed below, please email osher@wm.edu.
Assist in Classrooms
Osher has a continual need for classroom volunteers in the following areas:
- Host. Assists with roll call and general member announcements. Training is provided.
- Class Assistant. Assists with powering up audiovisual equipment, "mic"ing up the instructor, adjusting lighting and monitoring volume. Training is provided.
Teach
Osher Lifelong Learning Institute is always interested in expanding its curriculum to include topics for enrichment of its members. If you are interested in teaching, we will send you a form asking for information about your area of expertise or interest/hobby and other pertinent data.
Lead Activities
Osher will send you a questionnaire to describe the type of activity you would like to lead. We currently include activities ranging from practicing a foreign language to exercise.
Provide Office Support
The Osher office needs volunteers to help with general office duties such as answering the phone, preparing mailings and course files, and data entry.
Serve on Osher Lifelong Learning Institute Leadership Council and Committees
Osher relies on volunteers to serve on various committees and for two year terms on the board.
