Classrooms and Parking

Fall 2023 classes will be held in-person and via Zoom.

Classes are held in several locations. Check the course description under Catalog for the locations of your classes, activities and/or events.

Parking for classes on campus at William & Mary:

Parking registration form

Parking on campus requires a parking permit. For 2023-24, choose from two Osher permit types. Both types are valid for the entire academic year, from September 1, 2023 – August 31, 2024. (So the permit you buy for Fall 2023 is valid for Spring and Summer 2024, too.)

Standard Permit

The Standard Osher parking permit (hang tag) allows parking in two on-campus lots:

1. W&M Kaplan Arena parking lot for classroom locations at
  - Campus Center (Colonial Echo, Little Theatre, Room 159 and Unity Hall)
  - Commons Dining Hall
  - Keck Lab
  - Swem Library
  - Tucker Hall

2. The School of Education lot for classes at the School of Ed.

The 2023-24 Standard Osher parking permit is $16. You may purchase the permit as part of early registration. Once early registration closes on July 26, work directly with W&M Parking Services at 104 Jamestown Road to buy the permit.

Plus Permit

The upgraded Plus Osher parking permit (hang tag plus special ID) grants you parking privileges at Kaplan Arena or School of Ed PLUS riding privileges on the Williamsburg Area Transit Authority Route No. 8 bus (“Green Line”). The Green Line allows you to park at School of Ed and ride the bus to a stop close to your on-campus class location. The 2023-24 Osher Plus parking permit is $41. It is available for purchase only through the Osher office year round.

Allow Extra Time and Plan Ahead for Parking on Campus

Refer to the Class Locations and Parking and Map PDFs to learn more about classroom venues and walking distances using Osher parking options. You may also choose to park on your own using public parking or metered spots.

One Hang Tag per Member

One permit is valid for two family vehicles. However, if you and a household member are each parking a vehicle in a lot simultaneously, please complete a form for each member.

Handicap Access

Any member with a handicapped parking permit AND a W&M parking hang tag may park in any faculty/staff parking space throughout campus.   All buildings are handicapped accessible. Access the campus ADA map here.

W&M Kaplan Arena Parking for On Campus

Park in the student lot off Brooks St. and Compton Dr. You do not need to pay most parking meters in this lot. Do NOT park in the rows closest to Ukrop Way – they require payment. Park in the first two rows closest to Brooks St. And do not park in the faculty/staff spaces.

School of Education Parking

Park in student lots 1, 2, 4, 5 only.

WATA Green Line

The No. 8 Green Line bus runs a continuous loop on campus. It originates at the School of Ed, so you will park your vehicle in student lot 1, 2, 4, or 5 using the Standard hang tag, then show your Osher Plus ID to the driver to catch a ride to the stop nearest your class. See the Green Line schedule here.
