Hybrid Instruction Training (HIT) 

This course is offered once per academic year and is open to W&M instructional faculty. Contact eLearning@wm.edu for more information. In this short course, attendees will:

  • Identify various models for course design
  • Explore course mapping
  • Develop a course or module timeline
  • Discuss goals and functionality of a wide range of tools and concepts, with a focus on 
    • Presence
    • Collaboration
    • Discussion
    • Assessment
    • Presentation
Online Course Development Training

Design and develop a fully online course with strategies for faculty members who are currently scheduled to teach online courses. Besides the topics covered in HIT above, we also discuss:

  • Maintaining communication
  • Testing
  • Grading
  • Discussion and discussion boards
  • Troubleshooting common problems
