2011 Duke Award nominations

Anna Martin, vice president for administration, sent the following message to the College's faculty and staff on Jan. 20, 2011 - Ed.

Charles and Virginia Duke have established an award to honor an exceptional employee of the College, who is neither a student nor an instructional faculty member.  All other employees of the College, including employees of one of the College's Auxiliary Service contractors, are eligible.  The employee may be full- or part-time (30 hours a week or more).  Under the terms of the gift, the award must go to one person to recognize his or her individual contributions to the College, and the recipient must be an outstanding member of the community.  Note that the guidelines also state that nominations should reflect the College's diversified workforce.

Please send your nominations to Kristen Fagan, Office of Administration, College Apartments, 1st Floor, no later than the close of business on Friday, February 25, 2011.  I encourage you to make nominations so that we may take advantage of Mr. and Mrs. Duke’s generous gift and recognize one of our outstanding employees.  If you nominated someone last year, that nomination will be carried over to this year.  If you have any questions about whether your nomination is still valid, please call Kristen Fagan at x1‑2742.

The program description and nomination form can be accessed at:

Please print and complete the form to nominate an individual.

The award carries a substantial cash prize.  The recipient will be announced at Commencement and his or her name will be placed on a public plaque.
