Message regarding liberal arts university conversations

Provost Michael Halleran sent the following message to the campus community on March 17, 2010 - Ed.

William and Mary Community,
 
Welcome back from spring break!  As we move into the final two months of the academic year, I want to alert you to the remaining events of our campus-wide conversation on W&M as a leading liberal arts university in the 21st century.  There are three events scheduled over the next few weeks, each approaching this topic from a different perspective.  Details will follow closer to each event; for now please mark your calendars.
 
            Tuesday, March 23rd @ 5:00-6:30 in 101 Andrews Hall
            Student-led panel
            "Students Come to William & Mary Wanting to Change the World--Do They Leave with the Tools to Do That?"
 
            Friday, April 2nd @  2:00-3:30 in Chesapeake C, Sadler Center
            Carol G. Schneider, President of the Association of American Colleges and Universities
            "Changing Understandings of Liberal Education"
 
            Thursday, April 8th @ 4:00-5:30 in 150 Millington Hall
            "Discussion of the 'White Paper' on W&M as a Leading Liberal Arts University in the 21st Century"
            (A draft of the "white paper" will be on the conversation's web site in advance.)
