Long-time professor Lee Rawls dies

Dear Friends:

With deep sadness, I am sharing with all of you the news that Lee Rawls, adjunct professor at the College for almost two decades, passed away on December 9 in Washington, D.C.  Professor Rawls was widely regarded by students and fellow faculty members alike for being an energetic, dynamic and thoughtful educator.  His career and deep interest in politics and policy-making were evident in his years of service with the Navy, with the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, and as Chief of Staff to both Senator Pete Domenici and Bill Frist, among other positions in academia and government.

His contributions on campus are many, and his presence will be missed.  For more details of an extraordinary life, please visit this link on the William & Mary Government site .

Sincerely,
Michael R. Halleran
Provost
