Advisor of the Year 2018

Professor Bruce Campbell

Professor Bruce Campbell is the 2018 Advisor of the Year.

Student Quote: "He has been an invaluable resource this year. Without him, I really wouldn't have known where to start with choosing courses, and his suggestions have had a major impact on my plans for the future. He also has been extremely helpful in figuring out study abroad options and making sure I am on track to graduate. Most importantly, he has always been friendly, and he takes the time to check in with how I'm doing in general, not just academically. I always leave his office feeling more at ease and more confident than when I went in."

Bruce Campbell is an Associate Professor of German Studies in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures. He obtained his M.A. and Ph.D. in European History from the University of Madison-Wisconsin. His areas of expertise include national socialism, state violence, political uses of culture, and German detective fiction.

Campbell is a past Associate Chair of Modern Languages and Literatures, a past Program Director of European Studies, and a past German Studies Program Director. He won the Plumeri Award in 2016. He is particularly appreciated on campus for his mentoring of students to apply for Fulbright and other major international fellowships.
