Joint Degree Programme students are guaranteed on-campus housing (accommodation) in a standard double room for all four years, provided all application and deposit deadlines are met and you remain in good academic standing. Once you've reviewed your possibilities for housing, you should submit the housing request form no later than March 1. You may make specific requests for residence hall or roommates on that form; we cannot guarantee that you'll get all that you request, but we will take your preferences into account as we assign housing.
As you consider your options and determine your preferences, please keep in mind the following:
Single rooms, apartments, and spaces in the Hardy and Lemon Residence Halls are available only if you have a documented medical need. If you have a condition that you think would qualify you for one of these spaces, please contact residence life as soon as possible.
If you and another student would like to room together, each of you must submit the housing preference form and state that you'd like to live together. We will honor specific roommate requests only if the match is requested by both parties and is made by the March 1 deadline.
You have the option of living off-campus, if you prefer. Local housing opportunities are listed with Off-Campus Partners. Please be aware that Williamsburg offers limited public transportation, so you might need a car or bike if you choose to live away from campus. Also be aware that signing a housing contract—either with W&M or with a local landlord—is binding. Do not sign a contract for a room on campus if you are considering living elsewhere. Please contact residence life if you have questions; we will assume you intend to live on campus unless you inform us otherwise.
Your housing offer will arrive in May or early June to your W&M email address, along with your roommate's name and other information. If you have questions, please contact [[living, Residence Life]].
