Dr. Michele Bates King received her B.A. in Speech Communication (Christopher Newport University), M.S. in Corporate and Professional Communication (Radford University), and her Ph.D. in Communication (Regent University) specializing in entertainment education.
Dr. King is a Lecturer at William & Mary and in the last eighteen years at The College, she has taught courses on public speaking, principles of small groups, nonverbal communication, intercultural communication, entertainment education, presentation skills for international graduates, and has advised numerous independent studies.
As an active member of ISBGS (International Society for Board Game Studies), Dr. King has presented her research on play, board games, and gamification world-wide from Brazil, France, and Belgium to Denmark and Germany. She is a consultant and guest speaker for many campus organizations and departments, community events, and professionals and practitioners.
