Joint Degrees in Education and Public Policy

A combined educational leadership and public policy program is available in which the student may obtain both an Ed.D. or Ph.D. and a M.P.P. degree in five years, instead of the six years that would be required if each were pursued separately or a M.Ed. and a M.P.P. degree in three years, instead of the four years that would be required if each were pursued separately. These joint degrees are ideal for students interested in working for educational agencies who will need both the analytic skills and perspectives of policy analysis as well as a substantive knowledge base regarding education policy, organizations, and practice. Candidates interested in this joint degree program must apply to and gain acceptance by both the Graduate School of Education and the MPP Program.
