Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Facility in Applied Science and Physics

The Solid-State Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Facility at the College of William & Mary includes two wide-bore NMR spectrometers (750 MHz and 300 MHz), housed in a 2500 square-foot dedicated laboratory jointly operated by the Department of Applied Science and the Physics department. 

The NMR Systems:
  • A 17.6 Tesla (750 MHz), 89 mm bore Bruker system, with an array of probes, including a 4 mm (1H13C15N) triple resonance HXY MAS probe, 2.5 mm and 3.2 mm HX double resonance MAS probes, as well as single and double resonance static probes.
  • 7.05 Tesla (300 MHz), 89 mm bore Oxford system, with 4 mm and 2.5 mm probes capable of MAS up to 15 and 35 kHz
  • Both systems featuring AVANCE I electronics and an operation temperature range of 220–350 K
