Grace Kier '20 sees her essay on US-Russia relations published in Foreign Policy Magazine

This past fall, Foreign Policy Magazine and the Carnegie Corporation co-sponsored an essay contest asking for recommended changes to US engagement with Russia moving forward. In December, Grace Kier was named the undergraduate winner for her essay detailing arms control and nuclear security measures between the two countries. She argues that such talks would promote global security by increasing trust and reducing the threat of nuclear war.

The Government department and the greater William & Mary community want to congratulate Kier on her outstanding accomplishment.

Kier double majors in Government and Global Studies with a concentration on Russian and Post-Soviet Studies. Last year, she was on the William & Mary team that won the Schuman Challenge, a contest organized by the European Union for undergraduate students in the US. Kier is also a 1693 Scholar
