Schroeder Center Awards Grants to Faculty

This spring, the Schroeder Center awarded its first set of Small Grants Program awards to four faculty members for research in health policy. The new program will increase support for faculty-led health policy research projects at William & Mary, an important objective of the Schroeder Center for Health Policy.  Because the Schroeder Center for Health Policy recognizes the important contributions and perspectives that various academic disciplines bring to the study of health policy issues, the Small Grants Program provides support for faculty in several disciplines including Kinesiology and Health Sciences, Psychology, and Economics, among others. For 2013, the Small Grants Program will provide $2,000 for each of the following faculty-led research projects:

  • Chon Abraham (Business), “Data Analytics and Healthcare Information Technology”
  • Danielle Dallaire (Psychology), “Healthy Beginnings”
  • Scott Ickes (Kinesiology and Health Sciences), “Defining the Influence of Maternal Capacities on the Adoption of Essential Child Survival Interventions in Malawi and Uganda”
  • Nick Sanders (Economics), “The Clean Air Act Amendments, Sulfur Dioxide, and Infant Health in the US”

The Schroeder Center Small Grants Program will award up to four grants annually. William & Mary faculty will be invited to submit applications for the next round of Schroeder Center Small Grants in January 2014.
