The Ewell Concert Series presents Flutist Eugenia Zuckerman

Eugenia ZukermanAcclaimed as "one of the finest flutists of our time, renowned worldwide for her elegant sound, lyrical phrasing, brilliant agility and graceful stage presence" (Boston Globe), Eugenia Zukerman has performed with major orchestras and at celebrated music festivals for more than three decades, appearing with such orchestras as the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the English Chamber Orchestra, the Israel Chamber Orchestra, and the National Symphony Orchestra, and at the Aspen Music Festival (CO), Mostly Mozart (NYC), the Ravinia Festival (Chicago), Tanglewood (MA), the Edinburgh Festival (Scotland), the Spoleto Festival (Italy), and the Yehudi Menuhin Gstaad Festival (Switzerland). Eugenia Zukerman is the former Artistic Director of the lauded Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival (CO). She has recorded for the Delos, Pro Arte, CBS Masterworks,Vox Cum Laude and Newport Classics labels.

Zukerman, accompanied by pianist Milana Strezvea, will present the final Ewell Concert of the 2010-2011 season on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 8:00pm, in the Williamsburg Library Theatre. The program, "Music of the Romantic Era" will include the following pieces:  Serenade opus 8  by Ludwig Van Beethoven, Sonata in D opus 50 by Johann Nepumuk Hummel, Romance opus 21 for piano by Clara Schumann, 2 Romances for flute/piano by Robert Schumann, and Sonatina opus 100 by Antonin Dvorak.

General admission $8, Students $5. Jointly sponsored by the Williamsburg Regional Library's Dewey Decibel Series
