For Prospective Students
Why We're Different
We are interdisciplinary, with affiliated faculty drawn from six departments:
- Applied Science
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Kinesiology
- Mathematics
- Psychology
Students can focus their studies in advanced topics in any of our affiliated departments
Our Neuroscience students study to understand the mind, brain, and functions of the nervous system, examining the function of molecules, cells, and networks as they give rise to fully formed behavioral and cognitive processes.
Degree Program
Courses
Our program is interdisciplinary, with courses spanning multiple academic areas. See the Undergraduate Catalog to explore the complete list of Neuroscience courses.
Research
One of our program's main objectives is to provide students with the opportunity to participate in original research. Our students and faculty regularly attend the annual meetings of the Society for Neuroscience, Experimental Biology, and other conferences.
Careers
Our alumni have a strong reputation for earning acceptance to some of the best neuroscience graduate programs in the country, leading to careers in neurosurgery, public health, and academia. Many of our graduates attend medical school; others become teachers, or accept research positions in laboratories.
