Tessa Bullington Warren completed her PhD in Italian Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She specializes in Renaissance and Early Modern Italian literature with interests in Cinquecento epic poetry, gender studies, and medical history. Her dissertation, “Textual Healing: Gender, Genre, and Disease at the Sixteenth-Century Italian Court,” examined the role of literary and art patronage at the court of the Gonzaga Duchy of Mantua during the first century of the pox epidemic in Italy and Western Europe. Tessa received her MA and BA from Florida State University.
