John McClure received his B.A. in History and Political Science, as well as his M.S. in History, from Virginia Commonwealth University. He currently is an ABD in the History Department at William and Mary, and also works as the Director of Research Services at the Virginia Historical Society. His dissertation focuses on the "long" Civil War in Lexington, Virginia, and he has published essays in Virginia's Civil War (Charlottesville, 2005), and Virginia at War, 1865 (Lexington, 2012).
