He also received a Ph.D. in Politics from New York University. His research interests include International Political Economy and Political Economy of Development.

Professor Arias along with co-authors include James R. Hollyer and B. This Fall, he is teaching Latin American Development and this following Spring he will teach International Political Economy. His favorite part about William & Mary so far is that, “the W&M community is extremely passionate about what they do”. Professor Arias also shared, "the most exciting part about teaching is trying to switch students’ minds from consumers of research to producers of research."

Welcome, Professor Arias, we are so happy to have you!
