Professor Roger Smith received his A.B. from Harvard College,
graduating magna cum laude. He remained at Harvard for another year to
attend the Law School. He also attended the University of California
(Berkeley) to earn his M.A. and PhD. He has been with the College since
1967. He is currently preparing a book entitled, Women and Genocide.
Much of his research reflects the topic of genocide and is reflected in
his many publications and scholarly talks. In addition to his scholarly
work, he has served as President of the Genocide Scholars and as a
Council member of the Institute on the Holocaust. He has been listed in
Who's Who in America since 1980 and a recipient of the Armenian Youth
Federation Eastern United States Educator of the Year Award in 1999.
Professor Smith teaches political philosophy courses as well as many
seminars at the College.
