We recognize that as a department, we have fallen short of creating a fully inclusive community for our students, staff, faculty and alumni. We are committed to doing better. We began conscious and concerted efforts at diversifying our faculty and student body a number of years ago and have pursued a number of strategies. Through that work we adopted a Government Department Diversity Plan in 2017.
In the spring and summer 2020, we recommitted ourselves to that work through a number of initiatives we developed through consistent conversations among faculty, staff and students. We continue that work and welcome your participation.
