Seth Carpenter ’92 is currently the U.S. Chief Economist at UBS.
Seth Carpenter ’92 is currently the U.S. Chief Economist at UBS. Before joining UBS, he was head of U.S. research at Rokos Capital Management. In the public sector, he served as Acting Assistant Secretary for Financial Markets, U.S. Treasury. He spent a good part of his career (1999-2014) at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System starting as a research economist and rising to the rank of Deputy Director of the Division of Monetary Affairs. Dr. Carpenter has taught undergraduate and graduate courses at Duke University, the College of William & Mary, George Washington University, and Johns Hopkins University. He also served as a Member of the Board of Advisors for Graduate Public Policy Program at the College of William & Mary. He received a B.A. in French and Economics from The College of William & Mary and a Ph.D. in Economics from Princeton University (1997).
