Sometimes machine-readable data simply isn't available on where things are happening - from global events like digantaries visiting a country, to local implementations of infrastructure projects. Written records may exist, but are frequently scattered across a huge range of news reports, documents, or other sources. The geoParsing team works with external practitioners on targeted projects to collect this information and georeference it in machine-readable databases for analysis.
All information generated by the geoParsing team is made publically available, frequently on dashboards created in collaboration with the geoDev team. Example engagements and concommitent datasets include:
- The location of Green Climate Fund (GCF) projects.
- Tracking Russian activities in CAR.
- Identifying satellite evidence of Chinese activities in Latin America.
As they are published, datasets can be downloaded on our data page.
