Many of the problems we solve in the geoLab require machine learning and large-scale spatial data processing. From the interpretation of thousands of PDF documents to creating dashboards to display our data, geoDev provides both the tools and know-how required to overcome computational challenges.
While many of the projects geoDev engages on are designed for internal lab use, some are more general in their capabilities and have been released as open source software. Public software packages include:
- geoHighlight - a toolkit for highlighting place names in PDF documents for human assessment.
- geoSIMEX - a R package for modeling spatial data when the exact location of events may not be known.
