CONNIE LEE | Hi everyone! My name is Connie Lee and I’m a junior studying Public Policy. I’m originally from a small suburb outside of Philadelphia. Since coming to William and Mary, I’ve joined organizations like Red Cross Club, Weingartner Initiative, Student Assembly and residence life on campus. More recently, I just came back from studying abroad in Australia! As a freshman, I took Communities and Neighborhoods and focused my research on education inequality between Philadelphia public schools. I even wrote policy memos on this same topic as a sophomore. This year will be my second year working with Sharpe as the administrative coordinator which means that I will help keep track of all Sharpe activities. If you need help coordinating a volunteer opportunity or any other Sharpe events, I would love to help you out. If you have any questions regarding Sharpe, please feel free to reach out to me! I love getting to know Sharpies from every year so make sure you say hi on campus!

ALAINA SHREVES | Hello! My name is Alaina Shreves and I’m a senior from Bridgeport, West Virginia. I’m double majoring in Neuroscience and Public Health and am excited to once again be part of the Sharpe program as a Program Assistant. My freshman year, my Sharpe project focused on how socioeconomic status affects developmental health in rural Appalachia. I continued this project as an intern at the National Center of Excellence in Women’s Health where I had the opportunity to study data that was collected at free screening clinics across West Virginia. I spent last summer as an Amgen Scholar at the National Institutes of Health where I did epidemiology research in the National Human Genome Institute. I am now continuing this research and writing an honors thesis on the clinical trajectories of patients with genetic disorders. On campus, I serve as Chair of the Student Assembly Senate and a campus tour guide. You’ll also see me on the sidelines of the football and basketball games as Captain of the Tribe cheerleading team!
