Recent Projects

The CGA works with a variety of people and organizations, both within and beyond William & Mary's campus. Check out the following projects we've been a part of, and feel free to contact us if there's a way we can help you, too!

The Virginia Food Access Network

The Virginia Food Access Network (VFAN), an initiative sponsored by the Office of the First Lady of Virginia, is dedicated to connecting different partners and resources in order to solve child hunger and create nutritious food access for all Virginians. Since 2015, the CGA has worked with VFAN to create several interactive maps, published on their website, that display nutritional and health data, and also share the location of food banks, farmers' markets, and other resources.

Wildlife Conservation Society

The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) is an organization dedicated to conserving the world's largest wild places through science, conservation action, education, and inspiring people to value nature. Since 2015, the CGA has worked with WCS to address pressing conservation problems through the use of Geographic Information Systems. The results have helped WCS focus their conservation efforts to protect some of the worlds most threatened species.
