Student Organizations

Biology Club

This club was organized to meet the needs of not only Biology majors but all students with an interest in Biology. It meets once a week and hosts guests as well as faculty speakers. Outing trips, field forays, and lab tours are also planned throughout the year.

ASBMB Club

The American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology student chapter at William & Mary is a cohort of undergraduate students and faculty members, committed to the promotion and advancement of biochemistry, molecular biology, and the biomedical sciences through leading edge research, community involvement, and scientific outreach. ASBMB places a strong emphasis on community engagement and wishes to maintain a warm and welcoming environment for anyone interested in molecular biology and biochemistry.

W&M Bird Club
The William and Mary Bird Club is open to students of all majors. Members include beginners and those advanced in the hobby of birding, and provides access to optics, literature, and experience from other members. Visit the web page for W&M Bird Club, or the Facebook page.

Botany Club

This group's purpose is to increase the academic and practical knowledge of the participants with regard to all forms of botanical life, to provide a forum for the discussion of and care for all manner of plants, and to assist the W&M community as well as the greater Williamsburg community with landscaping and other horticultural needs. Graduate Student Association

The Graduate Student Association is open to all graduate students in the Arts and Sciences and provides social and academic outlets. The association holds monthly meetings in the Stetson House, 232 Jamestown Road. Learn more.

oSTEM W&M Chapter
Out in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (oSTEM) is a national organization dedicated to supporting leadership and mentorship opportunities for LGBTQIA* members of STEM fields. The W&M Chapter intends to foster a social community for these individuals. This organization additionally seeks to inform the greater College community about issues of diversity in STEM research and education, also by initiating fundraisers to support LGBT+ and science-related foundations. Veterans Society of William and Mary

The Biology Department is eager to support veterans interested in pursuing a degree in the biological sciences. In 2007, the Veterans Society of William & Mary was formed to assist as a social and support network for veterans, and has since been involved in community service, raising veteran awareness on campus, lobbying efforts, and advocating on behalf of student veterans.
