Transferring Credit

William & Mary recognizes that international students may arrive on campus having completed studies equivalent to college courses. To be eligible for possible transfer credit, all students who have completed a 13-year secondary program or who have attended a university outside of the United States must submit translated syllabi for each thirteenth year or university course with their application for admission. Once these students have been admitted to William & Mary and have declared their intention to enroll, they may be required to send their academic credentials to the World Education Services no later than June 1 for fall admission or January 15 for spring admission. The university understands that, for some students, final academic credentials will be unavailable until later in the summer (e.g. A-Levels which are taken in June with results arriving in August). In cases like these, students should submit their credientials for evaluation as soon as possible.

William & Mary will accept evaluations completed by other services.

Obtaining an external evaluation does not ensure the awarding of credit. Transfer credit will be granted on an individual basis in keeping with the William & Mary faculty policy.
