The Wren Chapel may be reserved for the weddings of William & Mary students, alumni, current faculty and staff, and the children of anyone in those groups. It is not necessary for both the bride and the groom to have a William & Mary affiliation.
Alumni are defined as those who have successfully completed at least one semester in a degree-granting program at William & Mary. The Wren Chapel is open to people of all faiths.
Weddings may be booked on any day of the week. We reserve two hours for the ceremony and an hour the day before for a rehearsal. On Saturdays, weddings are booked in the following two-hour blocks:
- 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
- 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.
- 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.
- 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
All activities relating to the wedding — decorating, seating of guests, ceremony, photography, clean-up — must be accomplished within this two-hour period. The ceremony should be scheduled to begin at least a half hour into your reservation. At busy times of the year, other events may be scheduled immediately before or after your reserved time.
There is a $500 fee for use of the Wren Chapel. It should be paid by check or money order (sorry, no credit cards) and is due at the time the contract is signed. If you cancel your reservation at least two months before the wedding date, we will refund $250 of your use fee.
To schedule a wedding in the Wren Chapel, contact Kimberly Renner to discuss availability of dates and times. When you have chosen your wedding date, we will send you a form by email to make a written request, including the following information: your full name, mailing address, e-mail address, telephone numbers, W&M affiliation (class year), and the dates and times you want to reserve for your rehearsal and ceremony. Upon receipt of this form, we will confirm your reservation. A contract package will follow in the mail. Return the contract within two weeks, along with the $500 use fee, and begin planning your wedding!
