The Wren Chapel may be reserved for the weddings of William & Mary students, alumni, current faculty and staff, and the children of anyone in those groups. It is not necessary for both the bride and the groom to have a William & Mary affiliation.
Alumni are defined as those who have successfully completed at least one semester in a degree-granting program at William & Mary. The Wren Chapel is open to people of all faiths.
Weddings may be booked on any day of the week. We reserve two hours for the ceremony and an hour the day before for a rehearsal. On Saturdays, weddings are booked in the following two-hour blocks:
- 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
- 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.
- 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.
- 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
All activities relating to the wedding — decorating, seating of guests, ceremony, photography, clean-up — must be accomplished within this two-hour period. The ceremony should be scheduled to begin at least a half hour into your reservation. At busy times of the year, other events may be scheduled immediately before or after your reserved time.
There is a $500 fee for use of the Wren Chapel. It should be paid by check or money order (sorry, no credit cards) and is due at the time the contract is signed. If you cancel your reservation at least two months before the wedding date, we will refund $250 of your use fee.
Notice for July/August 2018
We are not taking any new wedding reservations until September 2018 as we are in the midst of staffing changes. Please check back here for contact information in September.
If you have a wedding on our calendar for fall 2018 or in 2019, please contact us in September if your question can possibly wait. If we have a date on hold for you, nothing will change that because we have not sent you reservation or contract paperwork.
If you have questions about an event during summer or early fall 2018, you may email [[sakern]].
