Just the (vital) facts.
Vital Facts is a booklet published by the College offering an historical chronology of William & Mary. The first Vital Facts was a four-page leaflet published in 1921 in honor of the attendance of President of the United States Warren G. Harding at the formal inauguration of Dr. J.A.C. Chandler as 19th president of W&M.
Earl Gregg Swem, then librarian of William & Mary, kept the booklet in print through successive editions in 1924, 1928 and 1935. Together with editions in 1963, 1970, 1973, 1975, 1976, 1978, 1982, 1983, 1985, 1987, 1989, 1992, 1995, 1997 and 1999, and 2004, more than 162,000 copies of the outline of the history of the College have been distributed throughout the world.
